Introduction

The field of Korean language studies advocates the ideology of “enhancing the skills of using Korean language“, in order to enhance accurate, logical and refined expression skills by using spoken and written words. Subjects include <Composition>, <Communication> and <Introduction to Literature> and currently, 5 professors are in charge of the lectures. The field of philosophy is responsible for philosophy, logic, ethics and others in order to foster character, value logical thinking and sound judgment skills in cadets and in particular, <Military Ethics> is being taught since 1980s to cultivate intelligible professional ethics as professional officers. Subjects include <Philosophy>, <Military Ethics> and <Orientalism> and currently, there are 5 professors in charge of lectures with majors in Western Philosophy and Eastern Philosophy.

Objectives

The objective of <Communication> subject is to foster high language abilities as an officer in order to express one's thoughts, opinions, claims, emotions and values in accurate, logical and dignified manner through written language and spoken language. Moreover, <Philosophy> and <Military Ethics> instill insight equipped with healthy and rational decision-making abilities and critical discernment based on logical thinking by teaching comprehensive outlook on the world and life. These subjects also cultivate character, virtue, refinement and wisdom so that cadets would be inculcated with upright values as democratic citizens and with intelligible professional ethics as professional officers.
